Synopsis
Author and bird keeper Terry Masear is on a mission to save every injured hummingbird in Los Angeles. As part of her volunteer hummingbird rescue effort, Terry takes in the weakest of patients, but the road to survival is fraught with uncertainty and drama. Over the course of Sally Aitken’s intimate and moving documentary, we join Terry’s hummingbird patients—including Cactus, Jimmy, Wasabi, Raisin, and Mikhail—as they celebrate their small victories and mourn their tiny tragedies. Through the eyes of America’s busiest bird keeper, each bird becomes unforgettable, powerful, and heroic. As she nurses the injured hummingbirds back to health, Terry embarks on her own transformative journey, unfolding a visually captivating and magical story of love, healing, and the delicate beauty of small acts of greatness.
