Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in “Skeleton Crew” plus more stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s younger siblings is the same one Chewbacca’s family watched in the infamous Star Wars Christmas special (1978). in the crazy cartoon cast of AniMat: Stupid Old Killer Bear (2022). I watched the first two episodes and while there is a clear desire to create “goonies in space”; show me what’s wrong with that? It’s a completely different take on the story that exists in the Star Wars universe. I liked the look and feel of a suburban town in this world because we’ve never seen anything like it. The town they come from reminded me more of the neighborhood in E.T. than anything we’ve seen in recent shows. The four main characters are typical but enjoyable, each with a clearly defined role in the group and are well played by the actors. The pirate setting isn’t necessarily something we’ve seen before, it adds a bit of a scary element and a sense of danger. If this were an 80s movie, it would fit right in. So far, I’m enjoying the new storytelling elements in the Star Wars universe, the nostalgia for the movies I grew up with, and the fact that I can share my Star Wars experiences with my kids. Well done!. Refresh your watchlist with the latest lineup of streaming movies and TV shows available on Disney+, featuring old favorites and top-notch newcomers.
